Europe stronger than ever: Volt's election programme on Europe Day
9 May is Europe Day – even an official holiday in Luxembourg! Volt is celebrating by publishing its election programme for the upcoming Chamber elections.
The European Union has been a beacon of hope for the continent, ushering in an era of unprecedented peace and prosperity. For the last 60 years, it has helped to heal the scars of centuries-old conflicts that ravaged Europe. Although it has long taken pride in being a champion of democracy, the EU's democratic shortcomings have come to light recently.
On the occasion of Europe Day, we contrast the disturbing democratic regression of our recent past with unified and practical proposals for a vision of an EU that eliminates the political, social and economic inequalities within its borders.
We want a new politics and a new Europe. That is why today we are publishing our proposals for a united Europe and a Luxembourg that is even more European, more social and more committed towards tackling climate change.
